Licencing Fees from 01 January 2008

Premises used for the sale by retail of alcohol, the supply of alcohol by qualifying clubs, the provision of regulated entertainment, or the provision of late night refreshment (Licensing Act 2003)
Premises Licence & Club Premises Certificate
Premises and Club application: each premises that is licensable will be allocated to a fee band according to non - domestic rateable value.
- Band A - No rateable value to £4,300
- Band B - £4,301 to £33,000
- Band C - £33,001 to £87,000
- Band D - £87,001 to £125,000
- Band E - £125,001 and above
Initial Fee
- Band A - £100
- Band B - £190
- Band C - £315
- Band D - £450
- Band E - £635
A multiplier is applied to premises in bands D and E where they are exclusively or primarily in the business of selling alcohol (mainly large town and city centre pubs).
- City/town centre pub application fee: Band D (x 2) - £900
- City/town centre pub annual charge: Band D (x 2) - £640
- City/town centre pub application fee: Band E (x 3) - £1,905
- City/town centre pub annual charge: Band E (x 3) - £1,050
Annual Fee
Each band attracts a different level of annual fee - payable one year after the grant of the licence.
- Band A - £70
- Band B - £180
- Band C - £295
- Band D - £320
- Band E - £350
Exceptionally Large Events
The Licensing Authorities will also be able to charge an additional premises fee for exceptionally large events:
- 5,000 to 9,999 people - £1,000
- 10,000 to 14,999 people - £2,000
Fees for larger events are available on request.
Personal Licences, Temporary Events and Other Fees
The Licensing Authorities will also be able to charge other fees in relation to their duties, most notably for temporary events and personal licences.

Gambling
In all cases the fee for a 'fast track conversion application is £250.
The first annual fee of a licence will be subject to a 25% discount.
All copy licences will be £25.
All notifications of change will be £50 (except Adult Gaming Centres which will be £25).

Permits
Local authorities already issue a number of permits or registrations for activities under existing gambling legislation. Under the Gambling Act 2005, the Licensing Authority will be responsible for dealing with the following permits and registrations:
- Unlicensed Family Entertainment Centre Gaming Machine Permits
- Registration of small lottery licences
- Club Gaming Permits
- Club Gaming Machine Permits
- Licensed Premises Gaming machine Permits
- Prize Gaming Permits
Unlike premises licence fees, permit fees are prescribed by the Government and therefore licensing authorities have no discretion in this matter. For information only, at the time of writing, the only permit fees which have yet been prescribed are for Family Entertainment Centre (FEC) Gaming Machines and Prize Gaming which are summarised below:
