Grants for disabled facilities and improving your house

A street in St Leonards
In these troubled times we can still offer financial help with housing

We offer all kinds of grants to improve the condition of private housing in the town.  Most of these are described in our Financial Assistance Policy which includes details of how we can help install disabled facilities, relocate disabled people and help both residents and landlords improve the condition of their property.

Grants for small repairs and major renovations

A street in St Leonards
'in touch' can help with minor repairs and major renovations

If you own or rent your home and need help with small repairs or major renovation works, our partner 'in touch' can advise you on all of our available grants, help you apply for them and make sure everything runs smoothly.

The agency can even carry out small repairs and maintenance tasks that are too small for

general contractors to price but are too difficult for older and disabled clients to tackle on their own.  The agency offers:

  • Advice on entitlement to welfare benefits
  • Professional surveying service
  • Contractors list (when works are being carried out via 'in touch')
  • Central heating repairs and energy advice
  • Damp proofing and general improvements
  • Disabled adaptations and equipment advice
  • Energy efficiency measures and renewable energy installations
  • Repairs to doors, windows, roofs and gutters
  • Renewing electrical wiring or plumbing
  • Advice on safety and security within the home
