Together we produce too much

Pebsham  Country Park

  • 31 million tonnes of rubbish every year
  • Our own body weight in rubbish every 7 weeks
  • Enough rubbish to fill the Albert Hall every 2 hours
  • Enough rubbish to fill Lake Windermere every 8 months

Together we can do so much

Country Park  Bicycle Wheel

  • One recycled plastic bottle saves enough energy to power a 60W light bulb for six hours!
  • Just 25 two litre pop bottles can make one adult size fleece jacket!
  • Every year the average dustbin contains enough unrealised energy for 5,000 hours of TV!
  • If we recycled all our aluminium drinks cans there would be 14 million fewer full dustbins per year!

It doesn't have to cost us time or money.  It can be as simple as playing a full part in the Twin Bin scheme.
