Annual Audit and Inspection Letter

The Annual Audit and Inspection Letter is prepared and presented to the Council by its external auditors, the Audit Commission.  The Letter summarises the conclusions and significant issues arising from the Audit Commission's recent audit and inspections of the Council.

The Audit Commission has now produced the Annual Audit Letter for 2005/6.  We are pleased that the external auditors gave the Council such a positive letter.  The Audit Commission judged the Council to be'performing well' in its use of resources, the second highest grade, and noted that 'the Council delivers good value for money' and that Internal Audit provides 'an effective service to the Council'.
