Smooth Jive Dance Classes

Learning to dance is a daunting prospect. Many think they just can't do it and that it will be too hard. Well it's not. It is as easy as walking. Infact we can get you dancing in just 30 minutes.

(please note, Wednesday classes at Broomgrove are currently not running)

Smooth Jive is a form of Modern Jive (otherwise known as Le Roc or Ceroc) but is danced to a very wide range of music and has West Coast Swing influences. The aim of Smooth Jive is to get you fit, having fun, socializing and dancing like a pro. The dance is similar to Salsa but does not have the footwork patterns that are difficault to learn. It can also be danced to a wider range of music including Rock n Roll, RnB, Hip Hop, Pop, Rock and even classical !!!!

Classes are fun and friendly but are taught in a professional way that will make you feel at ease learning the dance. We run two classes per evening The first class is a beginners lesson which lasts for 30 minutes. We then have a 30 minute break where you can practise what you have learnt or ask questions etc. We then have a second lesson for people who have been dancing for longer than 6 weeks. Beginners during this time will be given a 30 minute refresher on what they learnt during the first lesson. We then carry on with Freestyle music throught until 11pm.

There is no need to bring a partner with you as we work a rotational basis, giving you a chance to dance and meet everyone. You do not need to pre book lessons and it does not matter if you miss a lesson as we cover the beginners section every six weeks. Classes are just £5 per night.
