This annual sporting spectacle sees keen crazy golfers from across the world gather in Hastings for a showdown. Hastings Crazy Golf Course is always filled with residents and visitors during the summer months enjoying a relaxed game of golf. In October, however, things get a little more serious when Crazy Golf champs compete on the course.
The event is open to anybody over the age of 14, including beginners. It is held over a two-day period in October, and becomes more and more popular each year. The same man, Tim Davies has won the event for the past three years, it remains to be seen whether he can retain his title for another year.
The event is run by the Mini Golfer Association, which is, itself based in St Leonards. Mini golf has seen an increase in popularity in recent years, as keenly supported events like this demonstrate.
Pre-entry is a must for the event, as it becomes fully subscribed quickly. Entry forms are available at www.miniaturegolfer.com.

Crazy Golf has been popular in seaside resorts for decades, but recently more and more golfers have taken up crazy and mini golf as serious sport, and competition gets heated.
Miniature golf is the same as the crazy variety, but without the windmills, bridges and tunnels. In recent years the sport has been recognised in its own right, and the British Mini-golf Association organises several competitions across the country each year.
Mini golf started in the 1900s and was known as 'garden golf' in the 1920s. It built up to a stage when there were an estimated 30,000 courses in the US, with 150 rooftop venues in New York City alone.
In America the sport is taken so seriously that championships are televised and offer up to £100,000 in prize money. And it's equally big in Europe. Germany has 5,000 mini golf courses with 15 million people playing every year.
All ages can take part in miniature and crazy golf activities, in 2003; eight-year-old Olivia Propova came third in the World Crazy Golf Championships in Hastings.
