The Estates Division is responsible for all aspects of property management involved in the ownership or leasing of Council property. The Council has a computerised system of Ordnance Survey maps which show the boundaries of all land owned by the Council.
Details of leases and other agreements involving land and property are also held electronically on a database working parallel to the mapping system.

There are a number of Industrial Estates in the Borough that provide accommodation to meet almost any need. Hastings Borough Council has a variety of commercial premises for lease. In addition, periodically the Council disposes of miscellaneous commercial premises and sites throughout the Borough.

As the major Landlord on these Estates the Council owns around 70 factories between 186 sq.m. (2,000 sq. ft.) and 836 sq.m. (90,000 sq. ft.) that are let to firms creating the major employment area of the town.
The Council also supports the Castleham, Churchfields and Conqueror Estates Enhancement Committee, which is working to improve the working environment of the area, both commercially and aesthetically.
