Meet our dedicated team for tackling 'enviro-crimes', such as dog fouling, littering, and flytipping.
The Environmental Enforcement Team is split into four small groups of three officers. Each group is led by an Environmental Community Officer, who is assisted by two uniformed Community Officers.

Each of these three-strong groups is dedicated to tackling enviro-crime in their quarter of the town.

The team tackles enviro-crime such as flytipping, graffiti, littering and fly posting and also deals with irresponsible dog ownership issues such as fouling and dogs out of control.
Environmental Enforcement officers are happy to give help and advice on environmental issues, but it is primarily an enforcement service and routinely issues fixed penalty notices and its officers help prosecute offenders in the courts.

The team uses a range of tactics to gather the evidence needed to take enforcement action, from high visibility patrolling to covert operations using hidden cameras.

Environmental Enforcement officers welcome your help in fighting enviro-crime, so if you know anything that might help us to catch offenders in the act please contact us.
