About the Review
Hastings Borough Council is undertaking a review of Polling Districts and Polling Centres in accordance with the Representation of the People Act 1983.
The Review will begin on 25 June 2007 and will be completed by 1 December - in time to make any necessary alterations to the Register of Electors published on 31 December.
If you are registered to vote in the Hastings area you can make a contribution to the Review, but you must do it no later than 31 July 2007.
Update 31 August 2007:
The Acting Returning Officer has now made his representations regarding the Review. Any comments on these representations should be made to us in writing by no later than 13th September 2007. Please send you comments by letter to the Electoral Services Office, Hastings Borough Council, Town Hall, Queens Road, Hastings, TN34 1QR, or by e-mail to electoralregistration@hastings.gov.uk.
Update 05 December 2007
Representations and comments received received have been reviewed, and a Report presented to Council on 24 October 2007. Council decided to accept the recommendations of the Acting Returning Officer, except for the recommendations regarding Silverhill which were referred back to the Member Review Group for further discussion.. The outcome of the Council's considerations of that report and the subsequent considerations of the Members Review Working Group have now been reported to the Acting Returning Officer by the Democratic Services Manager in a letter dated 31 October 2007 (.pdf 42KB), and the resulting Amended list of Polling Districts and Polling Places published.
