About the Museums Committee

The Museums Committee is a sub-committee of the Cabinet.  In effect, this means that the committee is an advisory panel to the Cabinet and holds no decision-making powers.

The Committee is made up of Councillors and Museum Association Representatives.

The Museums Committee discuss everything relating to the Hastings Museum and Art Gallery and Old Town Museum.  Many of the items looked at by the Committee are for information, however, other issues may be discussed which require Cabinet approval.  In this respect, the Museums Committee would look at the issue and then recommend its course of action to Cabinet.
