Parks and Open Spaces Strategy

Please note: This consultation is now closed.

Hastings Borough Council consulted with community and residents groups on a Parks and Opens Spaces Strategy fot the Borough.  We asked if residents supported the broad strategic recommentdations contained in the draft strategy report.

In order to prepare the strategy the we asked resident's views on the towns Open Spaces from local commmunity groups and through a specially commissioned Citizens Panel.  It asked what people thought about the quality and quantity of different types of spaces, such as bowls greens and sports pitches.  We also carried out a detailed audit of 280 sites across the town to help us formulate the strategy.

The strategy has four main components:

  • A vison setting out the strategt's long term aspirations
  • A samll number of key aims supported by measurable objectives and a new target for the Community for the Council and its partners
  • Recommentdations Strategy
  • Clear priorities in consultation with the new Area Coordination Area Management Boards and existing on a number of key issues that face the Council and its partners

Once the strategy has been approved by Cabinet later in the year, a detailed delivery plan will be draw up Neighbourhood Forums.
