The information in this list is taken from the List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest for the Borough and is intended for general information only. It is not the Statutory List itself. The full document, which includes brief descriptions of the buildings, can be inspected at our offices at Century House. You should always check the information with the Conservation Section and seek further advice before undertaking any work.
There are three grades of listed buildings in ascending order of importance: grade II, grade II*, and grade I. Most listed buildings are listed grade II.
The list also includes properties that are affected by Article 4 Directions (denoted with (4) in the list). An Article 4 Direction means that a planning application is required for certain works for which an application would not normally be necessary. This may vary from one property to another and you should contact the Conservation Section for advice on the specific restrictions for each property affected by an Article 4 Direction.
This list was last updated on 28 August 2007.
