Building and Landscape Services

All new developments in building and landscape design services should meet all the relevant practical design considerations, respect their surroundings and not damage the environment.

Planning Development Control work with Conservation and Design in providing advice and guidelines to help people comply with these criteria, as well as the Hastings Local Plan and the law.

For more detailed information, please refer to the Hastings Local Plan Development Guidelines, or contact our Conservation and Design section.

We are currently in the process of compiling a major advisory design guidance document on sustainable design for new developments to coincide with the Local Framework Document which is set to replace the Hastings Local Plan.  This document will be available in this site when it is completed.
