Activities on the Stade

The Stade Education Officer is available to help you and your group get the most from this fascinating area of Hastings.

Current planned activities include:

• Handling sessions: supervised sessions with a fish themed loan box
• Film screenings: Hidden Connections Film screening
• Talks on: fishing, the lifeboat station, dinosaurs and smuggling
• Guided walks: of the Stade and Hastings Country Park and Nature Reserve
• Visits: to the Old Town Museum, the Coastguard station, the Shipwreck Museum and a net shop
• Workshops: art workshops and storytelling workshops

St Nicholas and the pail of fish

In October and November 2010, as part of the Stade Education Project, story teller Kevin Graal told the story of St Nicholas and the pail of fish to over 400 children and adults as they sat inside the Enterprise fishing boat at the Fishermen's Museum.
