Area Based Grants Expressions of Interest

The deadline for submission of expressions of interest for Area Based Grants has now passed.  We will shortly be contacting everybody who responded and will publish details of successful projects on this page in due course.

The Hastings Area Based Grant is comprised of several Government funding streams including: Working Neighbourhoods Fund, Local Enterprise Growth Initiative and Community Cohesion.

Hastings Borough Council receives the Area Based Grant directly and has flexibility on how these funds are used, both in the priorities chosen and the management process however, the Council also has targets relating to the worklessness agenda and community cohesion which are expressed in the East Sussex Local Area Agreement.

Through extensive consultation with local stakeholders a set of interventions were agreed at the Cabinet meeting on 08 September 2008.  These are designed to tackle local needs and the overall aims of the particular funding streams.

Community Partnerships Fund Commissioned Grants

Hastings Borough Council, at its Cabinet meeting on 10 September 2007, agreed to move to a 'commissioned grants process' with effect from 2009/10.
