Housing Options Officer

Ref: 475

Career Grade 8 - 7: £18,453 to £23,709 (starting salary dependent on skills and experience)
37 hours per week 
6 month fixed term contract

You'll give advice and help to try and prevent people from becoming homeless, carrying out home visits and interviews.
You'll need at least two years' experience of working in a social housing or related field, knowledge of current housing law, excellent communication skills and the ability to travel freely and independently throughout the town.

Senior Lawyer

Ref: 480

Permanent, full time: 37 hours per week
Salary: £30,852 to £36,312

We are looking for a Senior Lawyer to assist and support the Borough Solicitor in the continual improvement of the Borough Solicitor's Division by leading and managing the property and contracts team. You will be specifically responsible for all property transactions and contracts of a higher financial value, or of greater complexity or importance to the Council.
You should be a qualified solicitor, barrister or legal executive with 3 years post qualification experience and have a good working knowledge of the law relating to property and contracts
You will have excellent communication skills including drafting, negotiating skills, public speaking and an awareness of current developments affecting local government and political sensitivity. Ability to handle substantial and complex legal caseloads, effective time management skills and the ability to work under pressure are also key elements of this job.
