Administration Officer: Selective Licensing Scheme

We are currently looking for Administration Officers to join our new Selective Licensing team. The successful applicants will assist the team in processing applications and act as the first point of contact for members of the public.

Excellent communication skills are important as well as the ability to work under pressure. Working knowledge of word processing, databases, spreadsheets and the ability to use financial systems is essential.

Accounting Technician

The successful candidate will be responsible for helping provide a professional and comprehensive financial service to the council. The postholder will support the other members of the finance team in providing advice and guidance to budget holders throughout the organisation in a number of important ways including assisting with financial reporting and analysis used for management information as well as being responsible for reconciliations and transactional posting of journals using the Agresso accounting system.

The successful candidate will gain valuable experience in all areas of finance including the closure of accounts, budget setting procedures and financial management.

The ideal candidate will be educated to GCSE level (or equivalent) including Maths and English. Experience of office procedures within a public sector organisation including working knowledge of spreadsheets and computerised financial systems would be advantageous.

Housing Renewal Team Leader – Selective Licensing

The successful candidate will be responsible for project managing, developing, implementing and managing the functions of the Council's newly approved Selective Licensing Team (to be implemented in October 2015), in order to secure a healthy and safe living environment throughout the town.

You will manage the new Selective Licensing team and be responsible for managing the team's inspections of properties and undertaking enforcement action in line with the Housing Renewal Enforcement Policy.
Experience in environmental health and housing is essential as well as proven leadership skills. Basic knowledge of landlord and tenant legislation would be advantageous.
