Planning for the e-future

Are you making the most of online facilities that can make the planning process quicker and easier?  We're moving away from paper and pens to interactive online features that allow you to apply for planning permission.  You can now submit an application, view its progress and find out the decision made on our website - www.hastings.gov.uk/planning.

Recently, new options have been added so you can now view enforcement notices, report breaches of planning permission and comment on applications.

It's all about making it easier for you to apply for planning permission or be involved in one that affects you. There's a wealth of help and advice available on the site too, ranging from extensions and flood risk to hedges and satellite dishes. You can also download leaflets on a range of issues.

So, if you're thinking about a loft conversion, adding an extra bedroom or perhaps opening a restaurant, your first port of call should be our website - you might just find the answer you're looking for.

Council leader Peter Pragnell said:

"We are really pleased with the new features on our website and hope they will be widely used by applicants, petitioners and interested parties alike.
"We think online planning is very important, first and foremost because it saves time and money, both for our customers and Planning staff. It makes the application much easier, taking out the delays of posting and printing."
