Leaders Introduction

Peter Pragnell - leader of the Council

Hello and welcome to the Spring edition of About magazine.
Hastings really beings to shine at this time of year as we start to see the return of the tourists.
There is a real buzz around the town as the evenings get lighter and more people take advantage of our thriving evening economy.
While we all get used to some of the negative press that flies around it was encouraging to see a positive piece in high society publication Tatler, which described Hastings as 'Notting Hill on Sea'.
We have a number of significant things to look forward to over the next few months and not least of which is the re-opening of our greatly improved, visitor friendly Hastings Museum and Art Gallery.
A dramatic transformation has been taking place over the last year and I am greatly looking forward to seeing these major improvements for myself.
After the success of last year I am pleased to report the return of both the St Leonards Festival and the Seafood and Wine Festival, which proved to be great events last year and return with even greater gusto.  For more information have a look at our What's On guide.
I hope you enjoy this edition of About magazine and if you have any comments please get in touch with our editorial team.
