Hastings and Bexhill Economic Alliance

We aim to ensure that everyone in Hastings and Bexhill fulfils their economic potential, and quality of life.  Stakeholders include Hastings Borough Council, East Sussex County Council, Rother District Council, East Sussex Economic Partnership, Sea Space, South East England Development Agency, Sussex Enterprise, 1066 Enterprise, Sussex Learning and Skills Council plus three representatives from the voluntary sector in Hastings and also three in Bexhill.  The Alliance administers three schemes for the area.

Single Regeneration Budget

An 11-year programme to spend £26 million provided through South East England Development Agency.  With matched funding, the 100 local projects pulled in £128 million for social, economic and physical regeneration.  Funding has been limited to projects in Hastings and St Leonards.

Local Enterprise Growth Initiative

£3.9m, three-year programme of 18 commissioned projects serving the Bexhill and Hastings areas.  LEGI projects are funded by Central Government to tackle the deep-rooted barriers to enterprise, employment and economic inclusion.

Area Investment Framework

£1m per year until March 2008 from South East England Development Agency to fill gaps in and help develop the Hastings and Bexhill economies.

The Economic Alliance can be contacted on 01424 451781.
