Changing the way you pay

We're changing the way we accept cash and personal payments for Council Tax and other Council bills.

From early next year you will be able to pay at more than 30 shops across the town and any Post Office, rather than at our offices in Wellington Square, which will be closing.

The office will not close immediately, but will have limited opening hours in January, opening only Monday, Wednesday and Friday. It is expected to close completely from the beginning of February.

To give everyone a chance to get used to the new payment methods, they are ready to use now.  Lots of newsagents now have PayPoint and many people pay other bills like electricity and gas this way.  Just take your new style bill, which will have a barcode, into a shop with the PayPoint logo, or any Post Office, and you will be able to pay with cash, cheque or debit card.

We hope this will make it easier for you to pay your Council Tax, if you want any more information please call into our Wellington Square office or call 0845 274 1081.
