There's treasure in...the Old Town!

A new fun way of exploring Hastings Old Town has just been launched: the 'Treasure Trail.'

Researched and written by local resident Paul Turton, the trail has been produced jointly by Paul and Hastings Borough Council.

Paul explained:

"I produced a Treasure Trail for Greenwich some time ago, and it proved really popular. Our own Old Town is also steeped in history, and is great to explore. I certainly had a great deal of fun putting the Trail together. And, of course, there could be treasure at the end of the trail with the chance of a £250 prize for correctly answering a bonus question."

Councillor Joy Waite, lead member for Marketing, said:

"I think this is a brilliant idea. There is so much to learn about the Old Town, and this is a great way of exploring it, with the chance of winning £250 too! I am particularly pleased that there is a version of the Trail suitable for wheelchair users."

The Treasure Trail is available at the Hastings Information Centre in Priory Meadow, and the Old Town Tourist Information Centre, for £3.50.
