Leaders Introduction

Peter Pragnell - leader of the Council

"Welcome to the autumn edition of your new look About magazine. We’ve made some big changes and hopefully you’ll like our new, handy size and re-design. Please let us know what you think by dropping our team a line by letter or email."
"It’s been a long, hot summer, but another successful one for our tourism industry. Take a look at our feature on how we sell our town to foreign visitors and some of their views on why they return year after year."
"There are still plenty of things to look forward to with the Hastings Seafood and Wine Festival, a special event to promote one of our best products – fresh, locally caught fish. Combined with wine producers from around the area, we hope this festival will really capture the attention of visitors locally and further afield."
"One of the real challenges we’re facing at the moment is from our more vocal residents. Love them or loathe them, seagulls are integral to the character of our town, but they really do cause us some problems. That’s why we’ve launched our Don’t Feed the Birds campaign. Read all about it on page eight and nine."
"Enjoy About magazine and what’s left of the late summer."
