Young people in Hollington got their half term kicks at football sessions, run by the Hastings Football in the Community project.
Keen footballers turned up to Active Street sessions at Robsack School and the Helipad where they got involved in various fun football activities.
We also ran sessions at the Grove School for two days. The first day was set aside for coaching, where young people turned up to take part in drills and exercises covering specific aspects of the game.
Competition heated up on the second day during an indoor football tournament. More than 40 young people entered the tournament to battle it out for a place at the top of the league.
All in all, it's top scores for half term football activities, which engaged over 100 young people from the Hollington area in competitive fun.
More than 80 people attended our Fishing With Friends holiday programme in the February half term. Young people aged 10-16 jumped at the chance to attend the sessions, which ran over three days. Whether or not participants had fished before, the sessions gave them all a chance to develop their skills or have a go at something different.
The Fishing 4U project is growing and is now putting on weekly sessions every Monday, from 4pm-5pm at Wishing Tree Reservoir.
If you are interested in attending the 'Fishing With Friends' session, please contact the Fishing 4U Team on 0845 274 1050.
Seven young women completed our first Junior Sports Leaders Award, at the Grove School, during the February half term. The course introduces young leaders to the basic skills needed to assist at both local community and school sports events. Topics covered included the role of the official, fair play and delivering a basic health and fitness session. An external moderator assessed all the young women as they led a ten minute sport session, and was very impressed by their performance.
