Marketing Manager Darren Rapley said:
"Having Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is a major coup for us. This demonstrates how well the theatre is doing now with Clearchannel working alongside Hastings Borough Council. Each year for the last two years, the theatre has seen a growth of more than 30%. The fact that shows such as Joseph, Stones in his Pockets and The Chuckle Brothers are putting us on their schedules alongside the larger London theatres is testimony to the success of the White Rock Theatre."
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is showing at The White Rock Theatre from March 29 until April 2.

This year the White Rock Theatre will run its third Summer Stage Experience (formerly known as the Summer Youth Project). Summer Stage Experience is a two- week musical theatre summer school for nine to 25 year olds. A professional director, musical director, choreographer and backstage crew train participants in singing, dancing, acting and technical theatre. During the two weeks participants learn all their songs, dances and lines - and then perform on the main stage to audiences of more than 5,000.
Last year the theatre presented Annie, which was a phenomenal success, with more than 160 young people taking up parts as singers, dancers, actors, lighting operators, sound technicians, props makers and stage crew - plus an adorable dog who won the part of Sandy. The Education Action Zone, Hastings Borough Council, local businesses and even Sir Paul McCartney sponsored the project so children from deprived backgrounds could take part. The theatre staff scooped a national award for ‘Team of the Year’ for their efficient organisation and management of the scheme.
This year will see the venue transformed into a circus big top as they tackle the musical Barnum. Prospective participants should start practising their juggling and acrobatic skills now. Auditions take place on Sunday, June 12 and everyone who applies will be seen. If you would like to audition, join the technical team or would like to help out as a chaperone call Beatrice Cole on 01424 462285 or e-mail beatrice.cole@clearchannel.co.uk for an application form.
