Your town centre needs you! Make a date for late night shopping, eating and entertainment in the heart of Hastings.
The first in a long line of FREE town centre, late night shopping and entertainment events was being organised as About went to press. Arrangements were being made for Thursday, March 24, when it was expected three local bands would entertain shoppers with a feisty fusion of funk and jazz.
The entertainment was due to take place in the town centre, near Debenhams, with many shops, including those in Priory Meadow Shopping Centre, staying open late.
The Wizard Kings were expected to take to the stage at 5.30pm with their unique sound of jazz and funk, followed by St Leonards’ very own Naked Angel, an eclectic four-piece band described in The Guardian as: 'Ethereal floating vocals over laid back tribal beats.'

Funk band Cult Fiction were serenading happy shoppers home with their medley of retro hits, followed by an explosive finale at 9.30pm, courtesy of local company Renegade Pyrotechnics.
Don’t worry if you missed this first event, the fun returns on March 31 from 5.30pm, with the street art equivalent of a Radio One roadshow, with Les, Terry and Maureen from Bramble FM. Featuring the likes of Burt Bacharach, the Dennis Waterman Band and the entire Chas and Dave back catalogue, this family friendly act is great entertainment for late night shoppers.
If this wasn’t enough the Swizzelshakers, a stylishly crafted variety show set in a 1940s Hollywood cocktail bar, will bring their own brand of dance magic to the evening, before handing back to Bramble FM.
As well as music and shopping there is a wealth of eateries for a well earned pit-stop, so come on down and check out funk, fun and shopping in the heart of Hastings.
Late night shopping takes place every Thursday and entertainment every other Thursday. The scheme is supported by Hastings Town Centre Management, Hastings Borough Council and the South East England Development Agency.
