Duke Road Jury

It might not be the biggest green space in the town but the new Duke Road Pocket Park has been given an overwhelming thumbs up from nearby residents.

This parcel of land once suffered from all kinds of problems but, with the help of residents and volunteers, we've transformed it into a haven of calm and quiet at the heart of a happier community.

Councillor Jay Kramer, portfolio holder responsible for Leisure and Culture, said:

"We talked to residents as young as five and as old as eighty five to make sure the park would be something everybody could be proud of.  I'm really delighted that we've made this happen and it's a great example of what we can all achieve if we work together."
