Hastings & St Leonards Primary Care Trust (PCT) offers a raft of services to those of you already thinking about your New Year's resolutions.
If you want to give up smoking, but don't think that you can do it on your own, take advantage of the PCT's free smoking cessation service - you can either join it and be part of a group or get individual attention.
If your other New Year's resolution is to get fit, but you don't fancy standing next to a fitness god or goddess in their sparkling lycra suit, why not take a walk? If you take just half an hour's moderate exercise each day you can significantly reduce the risk of heart disease. Every Wednesday you can join a mile walk - which takes about 30 minutes. The walks are free and it's also a great way to meet other people and get exercise - at your own pace.
To find out how you can get free support to help you give up smoking contact your GP or the smoking cessation clinic at the Conquest Hospital on 01424 755255 extension 8341.
Wednesday walks take place at 12 noon. Meet outside Alexandra Park Café.
