WWW - What a Wonderful Website

With almost half of the nation online and more people logging on to this fast expanding information network all the time, we've re-launched our website to give you more up- to-date and better information.

Websites

You can now take advantage of a Q&A forum, 'Ask the Leader', which means you can ask a question about the town or the Council directly to Council Leader Jeremy Birch.  He'll do his best to answer within seven days although it could take a little longer if the question is complicated or needs further investigation.

This exciting new way of encouraging residents to communicate with us is complemented by @bout, an electronic newsletter available to subscribers every two weeks. Combining news, weblinks and the occasional competition.  @bout allows you to stay in touch with the Council and its activities at the click of a button.

There's all the latest press releases, notes of Council held meetings and decisions taken since January.  You can find out about planning applications, nature conservation, sports projects and events and plans for the town's future as well as consultations that have happened or are going to.

We've also launched a sister website http://www.hmag.org.uk which allows you to explore the fantastic collections of the town's museums in a fully interactive environment with games and virtual tours.
Over the coming months, there will be further updates and enhancements including the launch of a major tourism sister site and an interactive section which will allow you to open the doors on the hidden depths of Council departments and find out more about what each does.

Councillor Peter Chowney, Cabinet Member responsible for Communications, said:

"These sites show how we're continuing to find innovative new ways of communicating with our residents and of celebrating the strengths of our town.  With the national move to put Council Services onlline, the web is not only the future, it's the present.  The site is there for the residents and visitors of Hastings & St Leonards so I'd urge everybody to get online now and start exploring it."
