Beating considerable competition from established favourites like Coronation Street, the first series of 'Foyle's War' won the coveted Lew Grade Audience Award at the 2003 BAFTAs.
Shot and set in Hastings & St Leonards during World War II, the detective series stars Michael Kitchen and is being groomed as a successor to ITV's phenomenal Inspector Morse franchise. Series creator Anthony Horowitz accepted the award and announced that, following a strong showing in the Winter TV ratings, a second series was in the offing.
Greenlit Productions are now on location in Surrey filming scenes from the new series and have told staff at the Council that they should be returning to Hastings in August. Look out for an update in the next issue of About.
