It's time to start nominating those local people who put their hearts and souls into making Hastings & St Leonards a better place for everyone who lives here.
From pocket parks to community representation, we're looking for nominations for the newly relaunched Pride of Hastings Awards.
If you know anyone who has taken part in a community activity, a project where local people have been able to gain knowledge, skills and the confidence to use them, or a project that has enhanced the town or wildlife habitats, then why not nominate them for a Pride of Hastings Award.
In each category, a panel of judges will select winners for contributions to improving the Community, and also the Environment.
The winners in each category will receive a cheque for £150 and a framed certificate on Hastings Day, October 14 2003. In addition, 'The Pride of Hastings Memorial Cup' will be presented to the entry that demonstrates the most significant overall contribution to improving community spirit.
Entry forms available from:

Keen gardeners and community groups will be delighted that this year's
Hastings & St Leonards in Bloom competition is bigger and better than ever in a bid to encourage even more people to join in and make the town a mass of colour.
There are ten categories in all, ranging from projects which have improved the natural and built environment, the best local green space and the best domestic hanging basket.
Businesses, individuals, organisations and even residential streets are invited to join in the battle of blooms to boost the town's image and give it a makeover ready for the summer.
