Pelham Beach has coasted to the top of the seaside table to score the top grade in this year's Seaside Awards.
The awarded section of the beach runs from the Pier to the Harbour Arm and has scored a Grade A for the second year running. The beach was assessed according to its water and beach cleanliness, safety, availability of information and education.
Beach patrols have started again - running from Rock a Nore to the Bathing Pool - and the full lifeguard service at Pelham Beach begins in the middle of July with lifeguards on hand to help with enquiries, administer first aid and dish out suntan lotion!
Don't forget there's dog ban on the beach from May 30th to September 1st.

Hastings & St Leonards has officially been amongst the sunniest places on our stretch of coast over the last few years.
And the unique Hastings suntan lotion proved so popular last year that it will be on sale again soon. Thanks to the partnership between the Council and local toiletries manufacturer IT&C, Harbour Arm suntan lotion is under half the price of branded lotions you will find in the shops - a bargain £2.95.
Add to this the fact that it has been endorsed by SCaRF, the Skin Cancer Research Fund. For every bottle sold, 20p will be given to the charity so support its research work. It also has the Council seal of approval on it.
Councillor Jay Kramer, Cabinet Member responsible for Leisure & Culture, said:
"The beach is one of the largest open spaces managed by the Council, and we want our public spaces to be as safe as possible for the people who use them.'
"We are undoubtedly the first Council to actively encourage people to be safe in the sun by making our own suntan lotion. I am delighted that our efforts have been endorsed by ScaRF and that we can not only donate money made to this charity, but can also offer the suntan lotion at a far more realistic price than many other brands."
The suntan lotion is four star, factor 25 and you can purchase it from Hastings Information Centres, at Queens Square and at the Stade.
