Boosting Business and Communities

Local businesses have supported a number of HRP-funded projects including Community Alcohol Team (CAT), Seaview Projects, Sky’s the Limit and Addaction.

Help has come via the Business Broker who finds ways for businesses, schools and voluntary groups to work together. The project aims to ensure that businesses gain tangible benefits from their involvement, as well as supporting organisations that are part of the economic and social regeneration of the town.

The HRP-funded projects have recently received a variety of support from people to products and sponsorship. Marshall-Tufflex provided used office furniture and supplies to the alcohol and drug use reduction projects, CAT and Addaction, whilst the women’s training project, Sky’s the Limit and Seaview, the project to assist people with multiple needs, are about to receive great support from Marks & Spencer. M&S will be providing toiletry packs and laundry supplies for Seaview to use in its drop-in centre and emergency accommodation. Sky’s the Limit will benefit from funds for the office, prizes for students and work placement opportunities.

Businesses, small and large can benefit from contributing to local causes including staff motivation, increased publicity and enhanced customer relationships as well as potentially helping to decrease crime and increase skills, locally.
