During the Autumn, we asked you what you thought of About magazine. We wanted to find out whether we are giving you the information that you need and want to know about Hastings & St Leonards.
Below is a summary of the findings – look out for some of the ideas that you have suggested in the next issue of About.
Most people thought that the design and the way it is written make it easy to read. You also think that it is a good way of telling people what the Council is doing and the projects that are taking place across the town.
There were some really great suggestions, including a childrens’ page. We are currently thinking about how we can make this happen – so please contact us if you think you know a good way to do this.
You wanted more detailed information about events. Some respondents said that sometimes they have no idea of the location of the streets that are talked about. We are now thinking about how we could show where they are.
You wanted more on how crime is being tackled and more historical pieces. We were criticised for being too up-beat but others claimed articles were a revelation and made them want to walk around the town.
People also said there should be more on voluntary organisations and we would welcome articles from these groups.
If you have an interesting news story about your local group, organisation or area please contact Communications Officer Tanya Herbert on 781767 or e-mail therbert@hastings.gov.uk
