So...... What will your New Dawn bring?

In the middle of November, the massive consultation exercise to ask people in the town what they think about the ideas being put forward which will shape the future of Hastings & St Leonards, began.

The consultation took the form of a number of exhibitions, local events and public meetings and the purpose was to get as many opinions from local people about the proposed plans as well as their ideas for the future of the town as possible.

The most exciting thing for those people working there, was the interest shown by people and they told About, what they thought.

"More things to do in the town."

Abby - Tressell Ward

"Hastings needs to decide whether it’s a holiday resort or something else. It does look better but the parking and the traffic needs to be sorted out."

Anthony Thomas - Conquest Ward

"Some place for young people to go to - I don’t think there is even a disco they can go to."

Mrs Walsh - Castle Ward

"Loads of Ferraris"

David, 12 - West St Leonards Ward

"Safer Streets!"

Mrs Thayre - Castle Ward

"Transport really bugs me. There’s not enough buses at the right time."

Jane Smith - Castle Ward

"This town should be booming, but until there are proper transport links, industry won’t come down here. My vision would be a real mix of industry as not everyone would want to work Information Technology."

Mr Forwood - Ore Ward

"The most important thing is to sort out the social problems - just tackling the infracstructure alone will not solve the problems."

Robin Beardshaw

"Nicer buildings lots of them need renovating. It should be safer and I don’t want to see everyone struggling."

Lisa - Central St Leonards Ward

"A public transport system which is so much better. In Canada you take the metro and the bus it’s all on the same tickets and all the stops are at the main shops."

Brian - Old Hastings Ward

"Good employment, safe and clean with good prospects for people who live here."

Neil with daughter Freya

"Something for the youngsters - they get bored."

Mrs Palmer - Ashdown Ward

"A cinema all to myself"

Andy 6 - Braybrooke Ward
