Wave the Station Goodbye

Dab community arts group will be presenting a mixed media installation in the station during Easter 2002 entitled 'Wave'. It will be a collaboration between artists and the community to mark the fact that the current station will be demolished to make way for a new one during 2002.

Dab are inviting anyone interested to take part by writing or drawing an idea on the back of a postcard. The theme of 'Wave' can be interpreted in any way - sea waves, sound waves or simply waving hello or goodbye - it's up to you! All the ideas that you come up with will help towards the temporary installation at the station booking office.

The postcards can be found at various places around the town, along with special post boxes to post them in!

There will be a special launch event at the station which will include music and poetry performances. The Punch and Judy booths that Dab worked on with children, young people and community groups will also be on display.

The event has been supported by Hastings Borough Council's Awards for All grants, South East Arts and Connex.

For more information contact Dab on 429934 or Dab PO Box 153, Hastings, TN34 3UX.
