Country Park Updates

Over the last year the Countryside Ranger Service have been busy improving the Fairlight Picnic Site. They have

  • Redesigned the car park to gain more parking spaces
  • Resurfaced the car park
  • Installed kerb stones to protect the grass
  • Installed disabled toilets
  • Erected a notice board to keep you updated on developments in the Country Park
  • Carried out a reptile survey
  • Erected traditional Sussex sweet chestnut post and rail fencing
  • Surveyed all the trees and gorse so that a management plan can be written on how best to manage the area for biodiversity
  • Sprayed the Japanese Knotweed to prevent in spreading

In the run up to Christmas, Rangers wll be installing new drainage to stop the car park flooding, cutting the meadow and installing a new map board.
