We would like to thank all who returned the leaflet "Four Options - One Future".
By the time you read this, the Council may have decided the form of its new constitution. We will tell you more about this in the next edition of "About".
Meanwhile, there are two other ways in which you might be able to help and get more involved in your local council. Irrespective of what decision making structure we agree on, we need people from the community to help Councillors maintain the highest standards in the way they conduct themselves in undertaking their council duties.
We also need help in agreeing what financial allowances that Councillors should have for serving as Council members.
We are looking for people to become Independent Members of our Standards Committee and of our Independent Remuneration Panel.
Anybody can apply and either role will involve attending just a few meetings each year.
You will not be expected to get involved with the party political aspects of Council life and the main skills you will need are the ability to weigh up information and common sense.
