Welcome

Jeremy Birch Photograph

Welcome to the summer edition of About which has information about all the events and projects happening in Hastings & St Leonards now and in the future.

The Council has agreed its programme for the year and it’s clear that we face 12 months of increased activity.

We will continue with projects to improve the image of the town and tackle the issue of derelict properties. We have also launched a scheme to bring empty homes back into use and we are developing a registration scheme for multi-occupied homes. All this will help us make sure that there is enough good quality and affordable housing for our residents.

I would like to thank all of you who have contributed to our kerbside recycling scheme which is proving to be very successful we want to build on that next year and are relying on your support to make Hastings & St Leonards an environmentally aware town.

Community Wardens are now working with Hollington’s local community to tackle crime and nuisance in the area. We are also working with five schools to make routes leading to them safer and to put in place facilities to encourage pupils to walk and cycle to school.

We will keep you updated about the progress on these and other activities happening in the town through About so make sure you keep reading it for all the news about what is really going on in Hastings & St Leonards.
